After visiting a school in The Gambia in February 2018 I returned wanting to help improve the health and wellbeing of the lives of children living there and started a charity called The HAL Project to empower teachers to educate children to lead healthier and more active lives. The Gambia is a developing country with few resources and the charity provides teacher training, PE equipment and education packs which are currently lacking and desperately needed in schools.
Please click on The HAL Project link above to visit our website and learn more about our charity.
We have several fundraising events and all monies raised goes towards providing resources that support The Health is Wealth Policy 2012-2020, the Education Policy 2016-2030 and the National Nutrition Policy 2010-2020 for the Republic of The Gambia directly investing in teachers to educate and children to lead healthier active lives.
Alice and I are visiting The Gambia in December (self-funded) to deliver a 2-day teacher training programme and visit schools. Please visit our Facebook page (The HAL Project @thehalproject2418) to follow our progress.
